Ducks & Swans

Another fun trip!!!

IMG_3713Sunday, August 17, 53 of us boarded the Silver Fox motorcoach bound for a day in Boston.

The weather was perfect early in the day with sunshine and low humidity, with the clouds moving in later in the day, but no rain.

Our first stop of the day was the Boston Public Gardens where we rode the Swan Boats around the pond.

Afterward we had time to walk through the Public Gardens and some of us found the bench used in Robin William’s “Good Will Hunting” as well as the Make Way for Ducklings statues made famous by the book from James McClosky.

Back onto the motorcoach for a short ride to lunch at “Maggiano’s”, everyone’s favorite Italian restaurant. After our delicious lunch it was over to the Prudential Center to board our World War II era “Duck Boats” for a guided tour around the city of Boston before ending with a “splashdown” in the Charles River.

Our surprise stop of the day was a visit to the Navy Yard in Charlestown. Here we were able to board the U S S Constitution before she goes into dry-dock in 2015 for three years. Some of us opted to go into the visitors’ museum to explore and visit the gift shop.

The trip was enjoyed by all, and they are looking forward to the next adventure with And Away We Go Travel.

Recap- Maine Trip, July 20, 2014

Another successful trip!!

Sunday July 20,  Maine Lobsterbake

Today 54 people boarded the brand new Silver Fox motorcoach bound for Wells, Maine, and a Lobsterbake at the Bull & Claw Restaurant.

The weather started out cloudy, but improved throughout the day with sunshine peeking through the clouds.

Our first stop was a surprise for everyone – it was at When Pig’s Fly Bakery in Kittery, Maine. Many of us returned to the motorcoach with a lot of purchases.

Next surprise stop was Stonewall Kitchens in York, Maine.  Everyone received a 10% off coupon to apply toward their purchases.  Again, a lot of us bought something great here.

Our Lobsterbake was held at the Bull & Claw in Wells, Maine, and everyone enjoyed it immensely.  Leaving here we continued onto the town of Ogunquit, Maine, where everyone had the opportunity to browse the stores or stroll the Marginal Way.

Then we were back on the motorcoach to begin our journey home, but not before one more surprise stop at Yummie’s Candies in Kittery.  Great place to purchase salt water taffy or candy we all enjoyed growing up.

Everyone said they had a great day and loved all of the surprise stops included.

Check out more photos here. Hope to see you on our next tour.  Please see our tour listings on the website and don’t wait to sign up.  Our tours are selling out.
